Frozen In Time

A Syracuse Wedding

Welcome to the Mattice Wedding blog!

When we met Debbie and Nate at their engagement session in Letchworth last fall, one thing that stood out to us was how adventurous they are! It was a rainy, misty day by the waterfalls, but these two still showed up with the brightest smiles, and were ready for adventuring! Including (but not limited to) a last minute hike through a TON of mud to a bridge overlooking the falls (seriously, was I the only one who had to get rid of the shoes I wore that day?! Ha!).

Their adventurous spirits were no exception on their wedding day! When we took them outside for their sunset portraits, they had one request-to go on the swing set their friends had gone on earlier! We were more than happy to oblige their request for more photo opportunities. It was completely picturesque, and Nate started off their marriage by being the perfect gentleman pushing Debbie on the swing!

Debbie and Nate are some of the sweetest people you’ll ever come across, as were their family and friends! We felt SO honored to be a part of it all and celebrate with them! From getting ready, through their first look (that they did a letter reading in!!!), all the way through their reception, we were so blessed to be involved in their big day and capturing it all. They also had one of the BEST ideas I’ve seen for the cake smash at their reception!

As Debbie’s lovely bridesmaids drank some Pepsi during lunch, my wonderful second shooters (Jacob and AnnMarie!) noticed that the shade of blue of their bridesmaids dresses, and the shade of blue of the Pepsi can matched exactly!
We love wedding planners and coordinators! They make the day flow SO much easier – no matter what’s thrown at them! Including buttoning up dresses! Shout out to Amy, who is absolutely incredible! AND her husband is a DJ! Talk about a power couple!
Talk about the PERFECT getting ready area!!!
SO incredibly sweet!!! Debbie’s brother and Nate’s sister (along with the rest of the bridal party) watching their first look take place! We usually like to leave the option to have a very private, secluded first look, or one that their wedding party (or family) can see from the sidelines. We’ll discuss this prior to your wedding day so you have nothing to worry about!
When we found out that the gazebo was decorated with flowers that matched their weddin colors perfectly, we HAD to take pictures there!

This little flower girl stole the show!
